My name is Genevieve, and I am raising funds on behalf of my friend and business partner of 10 years Ryan Beshara and her beautiful daughter Harvey Bird. Ryan and Harvey were displaced within 30 minutes of the breakout of the Eaton Fire, which originated just blocks from their home in Altadena. They took nothing but a small backpack of items with them when they left.
Ryan and Harvey can be considered lucky, their house still stands amid the rubble. Ryan has not yet been able to see the house with her own eyes, but she has reports and pictures from those with press passes. The gratitude for the standing house is immense.
While we recognize that many people have lost more, as the days go by and the reality of this catastrophic event starts to surface, we are understanding the level of displacement and the difficult road ahead, and I want to ask our community to consider a donation to help alleviate some of the significant costs associated with extreme displacement. Smoke damage and toxic air will need to be cleaned up, and melted utilities will need to be repaired in her area. The reports are currently six months until her house is even remotely habitable again.
Ryan is a single mom and is currently recovering from surgery and unable to lift anything over 5 pounds for at least another month, which has made the displacement extra difficult with a toddler. We're beyond grateful for anything anyone feels called to donate for her and Harvey as they navigate the insane rental market and get a sense of normalcy. Our hearts are with everyone in the same situation, the stories are endless and difficult. We love you Altadena, we love you LA!
