Whether you call her Pinner, Pinny, Pin Pin, or La La, she will always be our precious Laura and to know Laura is to love Laura.
Laura Pinner is now facing a potential fight of her life.
ALS – Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control. Laura is heading to Duke University in North Carolina soon to meet with Dr. Bedlack where she will participate in a trial and/or whatever treatment will be best for her at this stage. Her initial diagnosis will come from USF.
Laura has given so much of herself to her family, friends, and community in Lakeland. Her devotion to her church and faith, along with her endless charity work which includes board member for Girls Inc. of Lakeland, praise and worship singer, top fundraiser for Central Florida Speech and Hearing, as well as top fundraiser for Kiss the Pig Lakeland, just to name a few. Laura enjoyed her years of acting, from her start at The Pied Pipers Community Theater to Los Angeles and modeling, both print and television. She also worked several years traveling the country with Subaru.
So, let’s turn compassion into action.
This Go Fund Me campaign will help Laura and her family directly with:
- Loss of wages (she is no longer working)
- Medical expenses
- Travel expenses
- Electric wheelchair
- House remodeling to accommodate wheelchair
- Outside ramps
- Personal medical support
Also, the physical demands of caring for someone with ALS are vast and range from assistance with activities of daily living like bathing, using the bathroom, eating, and dressing to managing mobility aids and eventually feeding devices and breathing machines, first a CPAP and then a ventilator. Laura will need the help and assistance with daily living.
