OUR GOAL:

The Kamburoffs are seeking a goal of $22,000 which will provide two months of valuable at-home, 24/7 skilled nursing care for Pamela who was diagnosed with ALS in October of 2024. Currently, friends and family have been working in shifts alongside palliative hospice care to provide Pamela with a comfortable, clean and dignified home-stay, but, as her needs have increased over the last month or so, it has become obvious that a round-the-clock team is needed. Your generous contribution would get us one step closer to providing Pamela the consistent, stable care she needs in the beautiful home that she dedicated her life to cultivating.

PAMELA'S STORY:

If you are lucky enough to know Pamela, you'll know that a few, simple paragraphs are not enough to do this amazing woman justice! This talented, graceful woman was born in 1958 to Helen and Bill Mural in Parma, Ohio. From a young age she had a love for nature and flowers, which she turned into a passion for floral design.

She married Chris in 1986, and together they had two sons - Ashton (1989) and Kenton (1997).

Pamela devoted her life to raising her children and providing a warm, clean, welcoming home to "her boys". Meals were always made, her house was always in pristine condition, and her gardens were fastidiously tended to, often being the envy of the neighborhood.

A devoted Christian, Pamela always put God at the forefront of her work, endlessly praising him for all of the blessings in her life. As quick as she was able to identify a flower growing in the yard, she was just as swift to quote Scripture about the beauty of nature and how God provides all of these wonders for our happiness. It's hard not to think of Pamela when you think of someone so in tune to the natural and spiritual world.

The story of hardship for the Kamburoffs really begins in July of 2018, when Chris, a union steelworker (Local 979) fell victim to a massive ischemic stroke which left him without speech and an inability to use his right arm. Tirelessly, Pamela devoted the next six years of her life to taking full-time care of her husband. She was by his side every day, from the initial rush to the ER and all the way through in-home physical therapy. Relentlessly, her goal became getting Chris to walk better, speak clearer, and regain the happiness that was stolen from him due to his stroke.

Life would change again in October of 2024, as Pamela received the diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or "Lou Gherig's Disease". ALS is a fatal disease which impacts the nerve cells of the muscles, often ending in total paralysis. Still, this vibrant, passionate woman has remained a constant source of positivity for all those who have been blessed to know her.

Pamela continues her battle with ALS and is currently under care of in-home hospice. Supported by her sons and an incredible network of friends and family alike, the Kamburoffs have done everything in their power to keep Pamela in the home she worked so hard in making for her family. Your generous donation would aid in getting Pamela the 24/7 help she deserves.
