ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's disease
My uncle Willie was diagnosed with ALS in February 2024. ALS is a rare degenerative and eventually fatal neurological disease, killing the nerves and blocking proteins from building and maintaining muscles. This disease also eventually effects the ability to breathe, speak and swallow. Willie’s condition has worsened, he has very little usage of his arms and his legs and speech are getting worse each day. Your generous donations will directly support Willie's ongoing medical needs, including treatments, therapies, and assistive devices that can enhance his quality of life. Your contributions will enable him to make necessary adjustments to his home environment, ensuring his safety and comfort as his condition progresses. But beyond financial assistance, your support offers something even more precious it offers him hope. It tells Willie that he is not alone in this fight, that he has a vast network of caring individuals rallying behind him, lifting him up with love and encouragement every step of the way. Together, we can make a difference in Willie's life and help him face ALS with strength, grace, and hope. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to easing Willie's burden and providing him with the resources he needs to live his life to the fullest, despite this formidable challenge.

Wilfredo's Journey of Resilience
Wilfredo's story begins on the vibrant streets of Manhattan, where he took his first breath on the eve of a New Year's celebration in 1957. Raised in the bustling city by a single mother alongside his two siblings, Wil learned the value of hard work and perseverance from a young age.
His journey through life led him to pursue his passion for design, attending the prestigious high school of Art and Design Graduating in 1975. and Attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, but later enrolling at Farmingdale College to study mechanical technologies Alumnus 1983. It was at Farmingdale College where fate intervened, bringing Wil face to face with his future spouse, a bond that would withstand the tests of time. Together they made Farmingdale their home. Wil worked as an Inspector at the Bethpage Grumman facility, a deeply satisfying adventure for him.
Despite facing challenges with his vision, Wil's determination never wavered. While his sight posed obstacles in his professional life, it also prohibited him from serving in Vietnam, a fact he often reflected on with mixed emotions.
Throughout his life, Wil found solace and purpose in helping others. Whether it was lending a helping hand with home renovations or simply being there for a friend in need, his generosity knew no bounds which also included helping those in need donating his time and labor.
As the years passed, Wil's health began to decline, his vision fading and mobility becoming limited. Yet, through it all, his spouse remained by his side, a beacon of strength and unwavering support.
Now he is faced with the daunting task of making their home more accessible. Because of ALS Wil grapples with the reality of his condition. The simple tasks he once took for granted now seem insurmountable, and the financial burden of making his home safer for him weighs heavily on his mind.
With humility and a sense of vulnerability, Wil reaches out to those around him, recognizing that sometimes the greatest strength lies in asking for help. As he navigates this new chapter of his life, he does so with courage, resilience, and an unwavering belief in the power of love and community.
Together with his beloved spouse of 38 years and the unwavering support of friends and family, Wil embarks on a journey of adaptation to his new reality.
