ALS Lou Gehrig’s Disease Stem Cell Treatment
Don protégé
In March of 2017 my dear uncle Amir underwent an open heart surgery that wound up opening Pandora’s Box of heart break.
At first he was misdiagnosed with CIDP which is an autoimmune disease and was receiving a treatment for IVIG in home for a total of 8 months. When there was no improvement we received the life-altering diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is ruthless, robbing its victims of the ability to walk, dress themselves, talk, swallow, and ultimately breathe. All while leaving the mind perfectly intact.
At this time my Uncle set his mind to doing whatever it takes to fight this disease with everything left in him.
Amir is more than an uncle to me, he is a very special man who started his life moving to America at a young age from Israel to pursue the American dream. He served first Lebanon war 1982 war Veteran. He is very involved and passionate about his second home at the synagogue. He is a volunteer in his society, as well as occupationally a private investigator for the Police Department.
My uncle has been given an opportunity to possibly live a longer life with a stem cell procedure that would give him more time here with me and his loved ones. The stem cells are derived from each patient's own bone marrow and the other is embryonic stem cells. This treatment allows hope for slowing the progression of the disease. This is the most promising treatment option in the world for him.
This GoFundMe campaign was established so that my uncle can pursue the Neuronata-R stem cell treatment, as it will cost well over $100,000 for the treatment itself along with travel expenses.
Our biggest concern with keeping him alive is of course the funding. With it he has a chance, without it he will continue to suffer. Please find it in your heart to put forth anything that would be possible to contribute to Amir’s life.
We would like to thank you in advance for any financial support you can provide along with continued prayers and good thoughts.
