ALS FIREFIGHTER FAMILY FINANCE DISASTER!!

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Brian,
I am the luckiest kid in the world because I was adopted by two wonderful people.
I call them Mom and Dad and you call them Scott and Eileen.
Obviously you either know them or know of them. They are a high school sweetheart love story living a nightmare instead of their dream. They could be poster photos for what the perfect volunteers should look like. Boy Scouts, Fire Dept., PTA, SCOPE, Grange  and etc. AND they had a positive impact on the lives of the 56 children they helped raise. Mom was even awarded a WA State Unsung
Hero Award. They were very community orientated and did not seem to know the meaning of the word "NO"! They continue to amaze me every single day and I would really appreciate your help in easing my mom's stress.

Dad is in year 6 of ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.  He is now Trach'd and on a ventilator 24/7. He is fed through his feeding tube.  My Mom takes care of all of Dad's extensive needs and everything else that needs done in a family.  Her stress level has reached a point that she breaks out in very painful hives. I am not able to help
her financially - her biggest stressor - but I can type and ask ALL of you to help me help them.  PLEASE??

If you know them at all you know asking for help is hard but they would do anything for you.  As I worked towards becoming an Eagle Scout - it was easy to fulfill the slogan of "Do a
Good Turn Daily" because my parents were the best role models I could have had. They were ALWAYS helping others.

Mom hit a snow bump to avoid being T-boned in late Dec.  The damage to the underside of their van is significant because it has screwed up the ramp and door for getting Dad loaded and unloaded. On Friday she learned that the ramp and door will have to be accessed manually until the repairs can be done. It hurts her back SO bad lifting and moving the heavy ramp. Right now the first appt they can get for repairs is May 31st.   That was kind of another breaking point for Mom and she broke out in horrible hives  Her worrying about how to finance all of their outside the norm stuff and still pay all of their medical copays gets to be overwhelming.  Mom was in the hospital a few weeks ago for her asthma.  First day there she broke out because of stress.  The Dr's say it's hives - not shingles.

In talking with Mom she would just say
that finances or lack of them is too stressful sometimes.  So I bugged her to be more specific then finances.
Here are a FEW of the things I wrote down from that conversation.
(1) Van repairs like transmission and brakes - in addition to crash repairs
(2) Rental Van @ $145 day if she can find one available when she needs to transport dad
(3) Dad's medical insurance went up times 3 - income is the same
(4) New copay for ONE of dad's meds is $128
(5) Dental - thank God they have dental insurance because Mom busted her molar and the tooth by it and is just trying to hang in there with it until she can get it fixed.  It scrapes her tongue and is  sensitive. Dad also needs some dental work and a cleaning and the quotes so far puts their dental copays at several thousand dollars. (Mom's is more than Dad's)
(6) Medical bills for ambulance for Mom - Surgeon fees for Dad and on, and on, and etc.
I KNOW there is more stressing Mom - but these are the ones I wrote down.   If helping with some financial relief gets rid of her hives - I will be begging with all of my being to help get the word out. (Thanks Sue for helping me with the wording and getting this posted.)

PLEASE consider helping me out by making a donation to my parents???
I would give them the world if i could. They are the BEST people I have ever met...so PLEASE help if you can??
