Just when we hoped for smooth sailing on her road to recovery, Sierra was readmitted to the hospital a week ago due to a severe infection. The source of this infection remains a mystery to doctors, adding to the uncertainty and worry surrounding her condition.

On the eve of her 22nd birthday, I am reaching out to you all, friends, family, community, in this time of need.

Tomorrow, on her 22nd birthday, Sierra faces yet another hurdle as she undergoes a procedure to determine if the artificial mitral valve in her heart is infected.

This news deeply weighs on my heart to reach out to as many people as possible and share what’s happening and try to help her.
