Our very dear and best friend, Krish was diagnosed with ALS also known as the Lou Gehrig's Disease. This was the news the broke our hearts. It has no known cause. It has no cure. It is a terminal illness.  80% of the sufferers die within 3-5 years. As this progresses, she will be completely paralyzed. She will lose the ability to speak, move, eat, care for herself and her family and then, to breathe.  We do not know what tomorrow looks like as far as mobility is concerned. 

 A lot of questions linger in our minds as we process the diagnosis with Krish. We have kept it private for quite some time until now, when she was brave enough to share her new and evolving life with the disease. 

Life is now...different. From being an able bodied, independent, strong woman to now facing the reality of being dependent on almost everything that she does, Krish keeps the high and fun spirit she always have.  Aso, she recently gave birth and there are a lot of mixed emotions from being able and not able to care for their new baby girl, Raina and their son, Kevin. Along in this journey is her husband, Vara, who also is adapting to their new life with the disease and will have to face many unknowns and challenges as time passes by.

Krish and her precious family need our loving support during this challenging and unique time. They are forever grateful to those who are currently helping and assisting them on their day to day tasks and activities. Your financial contribution and willing hearts to raise funds is much appreciated for this unprecedented times for the Kakuturi family. It will be used for the difficult and evolving full time care and the effects of the disease.
