ALS: Debbie's Medical Expenses

It was almost two years ago when our mom, Debbie, began noticing some concerning symptoms. She had some muscle lost in her extremities and some difficulty talking. In initial conversation with the doctors we heard the words ALS. None of us at that point knew the gravity of those words. ALS was the worst cast scenario and we all hoped/believed that there was another explanation.

After undergoing a year of in-depth testing, our mom was officially diagnosed with ALS.  ALS  is a degenerative neurological disease that deteriorates the muscles quickly.



If you’ve been to Debbie and Paul's house lately, you’ll notice their home full of at least a hundred sticky notes with bible verses about God’s faithfulness. My mom is even more aware that each breath she has is a gift from God.  And in the midst of using much of her strength just to swallow, she exudes peace and joy.

Debbie and Paul are praying and believing for healing for her body... however, we cannot ignore the growing need Debbie and Paul have for support.


Some friends and family have already rallied around them in prayer and care. However, as our mom’s illness progresses, she needs even more care. She is finding it harder and harder to breath, eat or drink and have energy to get around. As a small business owner, my dad is pulled between the responsibilities of earning money to care for my mom while also deeply desiring to be present with her.   

We want to make it more possible for them to spend their time together and to help cover various medical expenses. 

There are a few ways you can help do this. Specifically on this site. This money will help fund medical and living expenses associated with ALS.

2. Volunteer your time (yardwork, cleaning, cooking, admin help) - visit our Caring Bridge page to sign up
3. Prepare a meal or purchase groceries (Meal Train )
4. Give financially here to help cover medical costs
5. Follow the Caring bridge website and the support facebook group for updates.
6. Post pictures and words of affirmation about who Debbie is to you on the facebook group.
