My name is Alric O'Connor and I am a Man At Arms (member for the 2013 USA team participating in the Battle of the Nations.
TeamUSA is
a collection of men brought together by the shared joy of medieval
combat and our love of our country. Historical Medieval Battle(HMB) is a
competition held around the world where men take the field in single or
team combat against other teams and the ultimate competition each year,
the "World Cup" of HMB is the Battle of the Nations.
Last
year the USA fielded its first team in this international competition
and they placed 4th overall. This year we intend to be there to win!
The competition this year will take place on the fields of France, the
birthplace of Chivalry, and brings together over 25 different national
teams in medieval combat. Fighters gather from all over Europe and from
as far away as Israel, Japan and New Zealand. They all take to the
field to prove their nation is the best.
Knights of days gone
past had estates to fund their travel and the equipment needed to answer
their King's call to arms. In the modern world, America's combatants
need the help of people like you to buy the armor and weapons needed to
safely compete and to travel the field of battle. We take the field in
the Red, White and Blue and we will show the World that America is a
force to reckon with. We will succeed and make you all proud.
