Our names are David and Lois Tharratt and we live in north-east Victoria. We first met Daniel* when he was 10 years old when we were fortunate enough to travel to the Tumaini Miles of Smiles Children's Home in rural Western Kenya. His parents had been taken in a landslide and Daniel and his brothers' lives were never the same. He was rescued by Rose Bugusu , director of Tumaini, taken to live in a children's home and given the opportunity to go to school.  Thanks to previous campaigns like this one, Daniel has just finished high school and aspires to be an engineer in the Kenyan army.  He is currently applying for this.
