Alphaeus Yang - Our Little Warrior Fighter
First of all, thank you again, family and friends, for your constant prayers for our nephew Alphaeus and his parents. Alphaeus has his good days and bad days, but overall, he has improved much. We are so grateful for your prayers, words of encouragement and support. Thank you, everyone!
Since Alphaeus' admittance to the children's hospital the doctors have diagnosed him with the Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV or human herpesvirus 4) and HLH (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocysto). "...EBV is one of the most common human viruses in the world. It spreads primarily through saliva...Can cause infectious mononucleosis (or mono) and other illnesses. Most people will get infected with EBV in their lifetime and will not have any symptoms." (www.cdc.gov). "Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a rare disease that usually occurs in infants and young children...HLH (is where) your body's defense system, called your immune system, does not work normally. Certain white blood cells — histiocytes and lymphocytes — attack your other blood cells. These abnormal blood cells collect in your spleen and liver, causing these organs to enlarge." (From hopkinsmedicine.org) In Alphaeus' case the EB virus caused the HLH and made him really sick. Since his admittance until now he has gone through several rounds of blood transfusion (for his low blood count), chemotherapy (to treat the HLH) and now, a possible bone marrow transplant. He is weak, tire and barely has any appetite, but he is a fighter and we know he will get better. His life is going to be an amazing testimony of God's power.
All donations will go to help with medical costs and financial obligations as Josh will be on leave without pay to be with Alphie.
Thank you again for your continued prayer for Alphaeus and his parents as they continue to cling on to God's promises to completely heal their son.
