Let’s get Alouette to Columbus to represent Australia in October!
Alouette is one of the finest barbershop quartets in Australia. They captivate audiences wherever they go, and regularly perform at festivals, concerts, and community events. They’ve also won many awards over the years, including first place in the 2024 Barbershop Harmony Australia Eastern Region open quartet competition.
Last year, they received a wildcard invitation to compete at the 2024 Sweet Adelines International competition in Kansas City. It was an unforgettable experience — made even more special by the incredible support from across Australia, with so many people cheering them on and travelling with them in spirit through kindness and generosity.
This year, they’ve finally been rewarded for their talent, skill, and years of dedication to their craft by winning first place in the Sweet Adelines Region 34 quartet competition. That means they’re heading back to the USA in 2025 — this time as official Australian representatives on the international stage in Columbus, Ohio.
But getting four talented singers halfway across the globe isn’t easy — or cheap. With flights, accommodation, and convention registrations, they’re looking at a total cost of around $18,000. So another GoFundMe page has begun!
Alouette comprises four singers from Circular Keys Chorus, based in Bella Vista, Sydney:
• Vicki Dwyer is lead singer and also the musical director of CKC
• Diane Jenkins sings tenor and is the assistant director of CKC
• Kaity Dwyer is the baritone and inherited the harmony gene from her mother Vicki
• Crystal Forbes sings bass and once played the role of Glinda the Good Witch — but alas, ruby slippers won’t get them to Ohio this time.
What they need now is not magic, but your support. Alouette deserves to be on that international stage, representing Australia with pride, talent, and four-part harmony that will give the world goosebumps.
Let’s help them get there.
