Hello! We are a team of passionate filmmakers in our third year at Manchester Metropolitan University, and we are thrilled to present the opportunity to help us create our latest project: ‘Aloof’—a gripping short film that delves into murders and mystery.
‘Aloof’ follows the lives of two neighbours as a string of unanswered disappearances plague their quiet community. On one side, there is Dennis, a quiet, introvert who works as a lifeguard. On the other, his stuck up neighbour, Teddy, who is an arrogant news reporter with a short temper. As tension and suspicion grows, their paths continue to collide leading to one another becoming more skeptical as to whether the other is hiding something sinister.
Why We Need Your Support
For our final film, we would really like to make the most out of this piece of work, and create a production that professionally showcases our ability and potential as filmmakers. Creating this film is an ambitious and exciting, but to make it as impactful as possible, we need your help. We are committed to producing a quality of film that rivals professionals, and not only challenges our creativity but also showcases our abilities as filmmakers. However, this requires funding for:
- Production Design: We want to bring to life the world our characters are living in and make this film immersive and engaging. To do this, we need to create a detailed set that reflects our characters lives and personalities. Therefore, we will need to pay for locations and props.
- Equipment and Lighting: Producing a high quality, professional-looking short-film, we would like to get higher-level, more skilful equipment that will elevate our production, such as lenses and camera modifications.
- Post-Production: To ensure the final outcome looks the best it possibly can, we are going to need to pay for colour-grading software extensions, which will adorn our short film.
- Catering and Travel Costs: Traveling to lots of locations and long shoot days will require travel and catering costs to guarantee we can get the best work out of our cast and crew.
