Help Alonso kick LEMS to the curb!

Hello Family, Friends, Community! You may know that my cousin, Alonso Bolivar was recently diagnosed with LEMS, a rare autoimmune disease that will inform the rest of his life.  LEMS is so rare that in fact, there are very few cases (a dozen or so) reported in children worldwide, ever! This means a careful course of treatment will be coordinated by a team of neurologists and other experts to help ensure Alonso is on the right path.  

Many of you know Alonso's mom, Lisa Bazurto, spirited mother, sister, daughter, dancer, colorfully opinionated, absolutely hilarious, vivacious and more! Lisa is raising Alonso as a single mom.  Don't get me wrong, the village is there but as a primary parent & care giver, this next part of the journey for Lisa and Alonso will certainly bring new challenges, to say the least.  Quite honestly, we don't know exactly what to expect.  We only know that focusing positively is what will be at the core of Alonso's healing process.  We know that love & support will help Alonso & family learn to live with LEMS...he can kick it to the curb but ultimately, it will always be there.  

I humbly ask your support in creating time for Lisa and Alonso to re-imagine their journey.  Funds raised will help with medical bills, treatments, gas & incidentals related to travel for treatment, and to help supplement cost of living while Lisa can't work.  The road to recovery will be intense and will greatly limit Lisa's ability to work.
