My name is Alonas, I am currently located in Berlin. I’m reaching out for financial support for my Facial Feminisation surgery. To cover the costs myself is far far out of my reach, and I am left with the option of starting this fundraiser.

I began one process of getting a surgery covered by my German health insurance, and I'm currently waiting for approval on the coverage. Unfortunately, Facial Feminisation Surgery, which is a series of surgical procedures, is not covered. I dreamt of FFS for over a decade now, but as I have reached a personal comfort and confidence in my femininity, daily misgendering from work situations, medical and everyday interactions cause strong dissonance in my self perception. Along with this, daily harassment results in extra fear. Even days I feel good sometimes can be shattered by the discomfort I feel. It all takes a big toll on my mental health and productivity every day. I’m in need of this surgery not just for my mental health but also for safety and stability.

I had numerous consultations with different clinics and found one I felt the most I could trust. The breakdown of costs for the two procedures I will have is as follows:

Forehead Reconstruction (Coronal Approach) – €11,250

-Using a coronal approach—an incision made discreetly across the scalp, behind the hairline—this method avoids visible scarring along the frontal hairline.

-The surgery involves carefully removing the anterior wall of the frontal sinus (the prominent brow bone), reshaping the surrounding forehead bone, and precisely repositioning the frontal bone.

-A small strip of scalp is also removed to adapt to the newly contoured forehead.

Jaw Contouring Surgery - €7,250

-Carefully sculpts and reshapes the mandibular bone (lower jaw) by reducing excess bone volume.

-Performed intraorally—through incisions inside the mouth—so there are no visible external scars.

Additional costs:

Hospital fees. Meds + Operating Theatre & 1 night Private Room + Board - €3,650

General anaesthesia - €1,950

Material costs + CT scan - €1,700

Post surgery accommodation and medical care - €2,436

Covering costs while out of a month's work - €1,500

My trust in the results for these sensitive operations is essential, and although it is a costly choice, it is the option that gives me most confidence. This clinic gave me an offer that will be valid for 4 months. In order to confirm a surgery date for the price they offered me I have to pay 20% of the total within 4 months. My goal is to receive enough in the next 4 months to book the surgery date, and then my goal would be to achieve the rest by next year.
