Aloha Roll Academy Lahaina HI
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lori Bruzenas. I am reaching out to ask for help in aiding a community that means so very much to me. What has happened to Maui and it's people is devastating to say the least. I am truely heartbroken and I can't begin to imagine what they are feeling with this tragedy.
Aloha Roll Academy and it's members are a portion of the people that have suffered a great loss this past week on Maui. Much like most of Lahaina, the Academy is gone along with many of the members homes, their possessions, their tools for work, and some even their businesses as well. This seems unimaginable yet it is very real.
The jiu-jitsu community and the bonds made through it are so special and life changing. We are a close family there to support eachother and help eachother grow as martial artists and as individuals. From the keiki to the adults we learn patience, control, understanding, and provide a positive outlet for life. It helps so many people and is so important. Being on the mats is a safe space that brings us comfort when life seems like it is falling apart around us, and in this case has.
The struggle and cost it will take for everyone to re-build their homes and the Academy we depend on is going to be catastrophic. My goal is to raise as much as we possibly can, and then even more. And I don't plan to stop until everyone has a roof over their heads again. The funds raised will be given to Aloha Roll Academy to help provide in any way they need for their community.
Maui was my home for a very long time. Aloha Roll Academy is my home gym when I go back to visit. I feel blessed and am forever grateful to have them as my jiu-jitsu family. They treat every one that walks through their doors with openness and respect. Please reciprocate their unconditional kindness by giving a donation and helping build back all that has been destroyed. Show Aloha, live aloha.
