Imagine owning your own home for over 50 years, only to have it burn down, and to be scammed out of the insurance money by a so-called "friend."

Carolann had this happen to her. She has always been there for others, whenever possible. Carolann had spent most of her adult life entertaining children with magic, songs, balloons, and silliness as "Tapioca" the clown, but in retirement, with health issues to boot, she lost everything.

Starting over, she moved in with another older lady who needed help and began to rebuild her life. Years later, the woman she was assisting passed away, and the family decided to sell the house.

Carolann had no legal ownership, and only a short time to vacate. Now, she is living in her car in a small town in northern Michigan, unable to look for a place to live while waiting for approval for housing aid.

To make things worse, her birth certificate was lost in the fire, her possessions, what few she had built back, in a storage unit. She receives very little from social security, and her medical needs are more than the average person.

She maintains a positive attitude, and is searching out assistance daily, but in her area, there isn't much. She is now sleeping in her car at almost 80 years of age, and using public rest area bathrooms. She is surviving on food bank items, but most need a kitchen to prepare.

She needs our help.

If she can't pay her car insurance, her car could be impounded.

If she can't pay her storage fees, her possessions could be auctioned.

If she can't find a warm place to live soon, her safety and health will be endangered. These funds will go towards the expenses involved with keeping her safe and getting her into a stable living situation.

We are looking for funds to find her a place to stay while all this gets sorted out with the state, so she can afford a place to be safe.
