Hi community

I met Alma a few days before Christmas and like many of you I could not get out of my mind that a 81 year old senior was living in her truck for almost a year with her dog. She has very limited income so it’s hard for her to qualify for a rental. We have finally secured a home for her Feb 1st but we can move her in next week but we need to come up with the extra rent for those days. Due to living in her truck she has depleted her savings and is on waiting lists for subsidies. We are trying to get her through the next few months in her new place and help her regain her health so she can get on her feet again.

The government supports have been impossible for her to navigate as a senior and we are working on them, but it takes time. I know its tough for many but every little thing helps and she is so grateful from

the community members and organizations that have been supporting her through these past cold winter nights. ❤️

She is almost at the finish line to be able to maintain a safe, warm place that she can remain in to live comfortably for the rest of her days.

These funds will help her get into her place sooner and out of the truck, and help with rent, damage deposit, hook ups, insurance and her move.
