Hello everyone, my name is Brittany and I am raising money for my best friend’s little girl, Allyson Earwood. Allyson was admitted into Mission Pediatric ICU on Sunday, December 10th, with COVID, Flu B, pneumonia, and sepsis. Complications from COVID led to a diagnosis of MIS-C. Symptoms of the MIS-C have included swelling in and around her heart, causing her heart to only be working from 30% - 40%, fluid around her heart and lungs, an enlarged liver which has caused her liver enzymes to be more than double the normal amount, and has caused her to be lethargic and having some potential neurological issues. The sepsis has caused her little body to be in constant pain. She also has a tear in her airway which has caused her oxygen levels to stay too low. The pneumonia has settled into her lungs because she has so much inflammation that she isn’t yet able to cough up the fluid. She is on a treatment every 4 hours where she has to wear a vest that shakes her body to keep the fluid in her lungs from solidifying. According to Allyson’s doctors, she still has a very long road ahead of her in the hospital, and out. It is uncertain exactly how long she will be in the hospital. During this time, both her mom and dad are missing a lot of work, and they have already been approached about medical bills. Allyson currently has daily echocardiograms, AM X-rays, CT scans, and medicines necessary to help her heart heal and gain strength. I wanted to set up this fund to help provide them some relief once hospital bills start rolling in. Medical bills are the last thing on their minds right now as they are both only focused on getting Allyson the care, treatments, and medicines she needs to get better. Anything will be a huge help for them and will be a huge relief for them once they are able to get their baby back home and healthy. Each day so far has presented new problems and complications from the MIS-C so please keep Allyson and her family in your thoughts and prayers!
