Ally Ryan is an award winning screenwriter, director and comedian working in the English and Irish language. She has written on various RTE productions, including co-creating an original sketch series released exclusively with RTE. In 2023 she was a recipient of the Screen Ireland Stage to Screen Development scheme. As one of the core tutors in Bow Street Academy of Screen Acting she works closely with actors on script analysis and character development. She is also a seasoned comedian, regularly playing stages across Ireland and abroad. She recently completed her first run at the Edinburgh fringe and was selected as the comedic representation on the judging panel of the Dublin Fringe Festival 2024. Her comedy work, which is acerbic and grounded in truths about the human condition, often provides the genesis of what she later develops into scripts for film and television. In 2024 she co-founded the Comedy Screenwriters Group for other comedian/screenwriters to share ideas and feedback on their projects.

Now she's presenting her own one woman performance. A cautionary tale about a struggling comedian discovers that audiences love bad date stories, and sets out to get content for her stand up by going on as many bad dates as possible. When she unexpectedly falls for a potential victim she must choose between her ambition and a chance at love.
