Ally and Jenny’s parachute jump for the cats at SCRFife

Ally & Jenny are doing a parachute jump to raise money for SCRFife!

Old man was a stray cat who lived in Lindsays Wynd, Oakley for many years of his life.

He sheltered in and under sheds and some people were kind and would feed him Jennie fed him for 3 years before she met Ally and when Ally moved into Lindsays Wynd the old man started to visit more , he would sit across the road and wait till he saw Ally’s van come home then we would wait in the drive till Ally would feed him. Ally made a cozy bed in the shed for him and it was plain to see the old man trusted Ally.

As time went on the old man was visibly getting ill and very thin, his face was swollen, and he was struggling on his back legs. Even though he had started to come closer to Ally, we couldn’t catch him. He would sneak in our cat flap at night using his tail to close the flap quietly. Ally would sit up waiting on these visits and talk to him asking him to stay that he had a home with us and our cats Toby and Sooty.

In June 2023 after failed attempts to catch him, we got SCRF involved but old man was clever nobody was going to catch him in a cage or net. He disappeared for over a week and we thought the worst but when he turned up one day and I decided to lock the cat flap so once he got in he couldn’t get out, but he made no attempt to get free he knew it was time to get help as he was very ill .SCRF came and took him to the vet promising Ally he would be returned to Lindsay Wynd and would live with us .He had a home.

Old man has had many medical problems, he has had his eyes operated on, teeth out, bladder and bowl problems, stomach issues and spine problems but he is one of the most loving, friendly cats and welcomes everyone into his forever home where he lives with his papa Ally and Jennie, Sooty and Toby.

We are doing this parachute jump to raise funds for the Stray Cat Rescue Fife. Without this charity’s constant dedication to saving cats, old man and cats like him would be left to suffer on the streets.
