I have been invited to attend Monterey Peninsula College in California and play for their football team. I have always dreamed of going to college and make a better life for myself. I started playing basketball and football at age seven and have since worked to use my talents and skills to try and get there. My initial costs will be around $5,000.00 however, my parents do not have the money. I am in need of covering expenses for travel, apartment, food, and my initial until my financial aid starts. I will officially be the first one in my family to attend college directly from High School. I have come from a family background of poverty, drug/alcohol abuse, domestic violence and incarceration. My parents have changed their lives now and are trying to make a better life for us but they cannot afford my initial expenses for me to get to college. I now have the opportunity to go but need help. I do not drink or do any drugs, I attend church and just want a better life. Anything will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless you.
