In case you don’t know me, my name is Allison Pincsak. I grew up in Chicago, IL and am one of four kids. My Dad is one of my heros because he plays the role of father and mother. My other hero is the neurosurgeon who successfully removed my brain tumor before I started college. I am now a healthy, 21-year-old songwriting major at Belmont University and I have been offered the opportunity of a lifetime.
The Opportunity:
Belmont has a program that offers students the chance to study in Los Angeles each semester. The program is very competitive, but I am proud to say that I have been accepted. This program helps students land internships with huge companies in the music industry that could prove invaluable to my career as a songwriter.
The Problem:
The program fee is $3,500 on top of tuition. Even though most of the money I make goes toward paying my way through college, I have still managed to save enough for my travel expenses. Unfortunately, it’s not nearly enough to cover the program fee and my tuition.
How You Can Help:
If you know me, you are aware of how stubborn I am. I don’t like to ask for much from people, especially money. However, I have come to the point where reaching out to those who care is one of the only ways to be able to fund this step in my career. Any amount you can give is extremely appreciated!
Your Impact:
Every cent received through this campaign will go toward the program fee. If the donations exceed the program fee, the rest of the money will be put toward helping me cover as much of my tuition as possible.
Goals:
If this campaign is successful, and I am able to go to Los Angeles, I plan on making as much of this opportunity as possible. I have compiled a list of goals I hope to meet while I’m out there, including:
- Book and participate in one co-write per week
- Maintain my 3.9 GPA
- Land an internship with a Major music company
- Attend the Grammy’s
- Book a co-write with a hit songwriter
- Write/Demo 15 quality songs
- Expand my network of industry professionals
