Hi, my name is Allison, and this is something that's been a long time coming. There's been many a time where I've considered doing this, but I ultimately kept shutting it down as "having to earn it". Given my incredibly inconsistent income to fully commit to getting myself HRT and my parents' unlikeliness to help out, I've finally decided to put this together to try and help a five year struggle that's gone on enough.
Back in 2021, I had come out as transfeminine to my mother and father, and being the religion-heavy people they are, they didn't really like it. And I just took it. People and friends online know me by Allison, and everyone knew me in person as... well, you get the idea. As time went by, it had only beaten down my mental further and further that nothing sat right with who I am. I didn't have the greatest childhood already, only exacerbated by how my father treated me- and the one escape I had were my friends; they are ultimately why I usually choose the people I meet and befriend over my own blood.
However, it wouldn't be enough. My father's behavior towards me, dating back to as early as I was four years old would hinder my ability to ask for help, be open, willingness to take action, or regain any sort of confidence I would have in my own abilities. It's gotten better as an adult, but the damage over all those years had already done too much to me- leaving nothing but a scarred perception to how I view myself and my self-worth. Hasn't gotten any better either, in my desperation to feel accepted in person I had tried to come out to my brother, and to no avail- even going as to telling me transitioning is not going to make me feel better about myself. I, however, would disagree. Even now, it still doesn't feel right for asking, but I have people who've been telling me I should've made this the moment I was torn apart for coming out. And so this fund aims to get the affirming care that I probably should've had a long time ago.
Thank you for taking your time to read this. I really do appreciate anything that comes by no matter how small the contribution may be. And if you can't donate, sharing this would be of great help.
