Allison's Fight Against Hodgkin's

Hello, my name is Allison. I am 21 years old. I have an amazing family and boyfriend. I am the oldest of four children. And the happy mother of two fluffy kittens.  I never thought I would be writing this on a website like this. For the past year and a half I knew something was wrong with me. I went to four differen't doctors and all of them ignored my symptoms. Instead they blamed everything I was struggling with, on having low iron and anemia. The day after Thanksgiving, I woke up with intense chest pain, that lasted all day. I went to my doctor and they did a chest X-ray and told me to go to the emergency room. They did a CT scan and informed me that I had enlarged lymph nodes on my neck and above my heart. They told me the lymph node above my heart was seven centimeters long. Which was causing the pain. They also informed me that I had enlarged kidneys and spleen. They weren't sure what kind of cancer it was. I stayed in the hospital for two days. They told me that I couldn't  work, and that I should rest as much as possible.  A couple of days later they comfirmed that I have stage three Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer. This is something that my family and I never thought would happen to someone they loved who was so young. Nobody is prepared for this kind of news. My parents are doing everything they can for me. They are both working full time and homeschooling two of my younger siblings.  Also one of them is a full time college student. I have never been one to ask for money from anyone. I have paid for all of my past vehicles, food, car insurance, phone bill, everything I haver ever needed. I have worked  since I was 16. So not being able to work right now is killing me. I am not used to needing people's help. I have to do chemo for six months, every other week. They want me to start right away. I am scared, but I am more worried about how my family is going to pay for everything. I would be entirely grateful to anyone who takes the time to read my story.
