Allison and Tim lawyer fees

Hey everyone, now that you’re almost 2 months into this year of residency, can you imagine not having one of your classmates/residents with you?  Remember at the end of June when that was a possibility?  Let me remind you that Advocate changed their drug testing policy without our knowledge and terminated several residents’ contracts across the Advocate system.  Two of those residents, Allison Law (Illinois Masonic FM) and Tim Prajka (Christ FM) hired an attorney to fight this. With this attorney, and other concerned faculty, they were able to be grandfathered in this year under the old policy. Their initiative in hiring an attorney, which eventually led to them being reinstated in the residency, positively affected all the residents whose contracts were unfairly terminated before residency started. This fundraiser is to help with the cost of this attorney.  Of note, this fundraiser was not Allison and Tim’s idea, although this does have their approval. 

We were lucky that Allison and Tim could afford an attorney to fight the actions that were taken against them and advocate for themselves.  However, they should not have to pay an extra $2800 to hold Advocate accountable for the contracts that they had already been offered.  This fundraiser is about this principle.
