Donate to help Allison & her family on her road to recovery

Hi friends. My name is Amanda and I'm raising funds to help my sister, Allison, and her family.

In October 2023, Allison was in a car accident that left her unable to work. This was followed by complications from a surgery in November 2024 that further exacerbated her health issues. She returned to hospital in December 2024 and was in hospital for most of the next five months as doctors tried to understand what was going on.

Doctors have now determined that Allie has an autoimmune condition affecting her kidneys in addition to several other health issues. Her recovery from the kidney condition has been hampered by complications from her November surgery, leading to her prolonged hospital stays.

After a lengthy time in hospital, Allie is now home and beginning this next stage of her recovery. There is a long way to go yet. Some of her recovery and medications will be covered by insurance but a significant portion of it is not, to say nothing of the regular household costs that have been piling up. Her inability to work since October 2023 has put a tremendous amount of financial strain on her family and this, added to the additional strain of having to factor in paying for new medications and treatments, has almost broken us.

Allie is a much-loved daughter, sister, and wife, and a beloved mother to two girls who have had to struggle through not having their mother there to help over these last months. It is hard for all of us to ask for outside help, but we are all working so hard to support her and there is still so much that needs to be done.

And so, I am reaching out to my community now to ask for your help. Any donation you could make will help to ease the financial burden on Allie and her family and will help her tremendously on her road to recovery. Monies received will go towards any remaining medication and treatment costs that are left over after insurance, as well as to covering any household costs and living expenses that have been incurred and will continue to accrue during this time that Allie has been unable to work.

We miss Allie's vibrant smile and humour, which has suffered as she has been going through these last few years. But we are hopeful that she will recover and be back to her best, brightest self with lots of support and love. Any donation you could make, big or small, will help to remind her that she is loved and cared for by so many.
