In January 2010, my good friend, Shanna gave birth to her stillborn daughter, Allie. Every year since then, Shanna and her friends and family have honored Allie with a celebration of life which has come to be known as, "Allie's Day of Love". On this day, everyone is encouraged to do something....little or big....that honors love. In the past, some of us have made donations of toys to children's hospitals or have made a meal for a friend who is having a difficult time....or have simply made an extra effort to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us.

This year, we are wanting to do something a little extra special to honor what would have been Allie's 6th birthday. We are hoping to raise enought money to purchase a "Cuddle Cot" to be donated to the hospital where Allie was born. The attached video talks about what exactly this is....but basically, a cuddle cot provides the gift of time....time for a mother and her family to spend with their child before they are faced with the impossible task of saying goodbye far too soon.
