For those of you who are not aware of the disease Cystic Fibrosis, it is a life-threatening respiratory infection that damages the lungs and the digestive system.
Unfortunately, Allie Laviolette has been battling this disease her whole life. She is constantly shedding a light on Cistic Fibrosis in her everyday conversations or walking alongside hundreds of others during the annual CF walk. She makes it very clear this disease is apart of her life.
Cystic Fibrosis has altered her life in many ways. When Allie first started college she had the goal of becoming a nurse, after a few semesters she had to change her career path because her body would not be able to handle nursing. Allie has to live with a cough that she cannot cure. She has to do two breathing treatments a day to keep her lungs at ease. Not to mention the $1,400 in medicine she has to pay monthly.
The reason I am on gofundme is because last week Allie was finally released from the hospital after being hospitalized for 2 weeks due to her health. About a month ago she got sick; for Allie, being sick is common so she didn’t think much of it. She went about her days, went to work, went to the gym and not until the second week did she realize that her body was not as sick as she is used to. She finally went to the emergency room and didn’t get to leave until 2 weeks later. The last hospital visit will cost her $1,200. Unfortunately, with Allie's condition, she may end up in the same if not similar situation. I am asking the people who love and care for her, and those who are touched by her story to please donate whatever you can to help Allie and her financial burdens. This is an ongoing battle that she will have to deal with for the rest of her life. So please be generous ;)
