Hello my friends, family, and community!
You already know that I am an actor who has been living and working in LA for the past seven years. You may not know that I have also had a lifelong dream of attending an acting conservatory and pursuing a higher education. After 7 months of preparing material and traveling to multiple cities across the US for auditions and callbacks, I have been accepted into the MFA in Professional Acting program at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA)!
This is a costly dream, and because I was laid off from my day job a few months ago, being able to afford any of it seems farther away than ever. I am going to be relying heavily on student loans to pay for my tuition, but living and travel costs are currently another seemingly impossible expense I am facing. Thus, my goal is to rely on my friends, family and creative community to help me raise $7,500. This will go towards:
- Required school materials ($200)
- Visa fees ($600)
- Flying to London with my cat, Vincent ($1,000)
- Logistical moving costs such as storing furniture in LA and shipping boxes to the UK ($2000)
- A first month's rent in London (£1,500)
- One year of healthcare (£470)
- Other miscellaneous moving and living in a new country costs
I cannot pursue this dream without the support of the incredible communities of stellar people in my life that I have already relied upon so often. Even being able to ask for help like this is a massive privilege, and I am extremely grateful.
