Allie N.'s Costa Rica Internship

For those of you who don’t know, I made the transfer from the University of South Carolina to Vanderbilt this past year and I am very happy with my decision. I am continuing my Spanish major, with hopes of pursuing a career in translation and then eventually becoming a Spanish teacher. Although I am sad that I only have three semesters left in my college career, I am looking forward to all of the exciting and new experiences ahead of me, one of which will be happening next summer. The Episcopal Diocese of Costa Rica has offered me an internship in San Jose, Costa Rica where I will be guiding mission groups through their mission work and translating for them when needed. As a Spanish major, this internship will not only put me on the track of becoming fluent but also give me an opportunity to soak up the amazing culture and get to know the natives on a personal level. But more importantly, Costa Rica is very close to my heart. My mom, Aimee Norman, had a very close relationship with the diocese of Costa Rica and profoundly affected the lives of members on the trip as well as the Costa Rican people. Her presence can still be felt throughout the community. My mom made her mark on Costa Rica through her work with the Episcopal diocese and now it is my turn to continue her legacy. But I need your help to achieve my goal. As this internship is unpaid, I am raising money for the summer as well as for the 2015-2016 schoolyear, my end goal being $5,000. Even the smallest donation will help me to complete this amazing journey. I appreciate all of the love and support going into this summer. :)

Pura Vida,
Allie Norman
