Allie Ray’s Fund

If only love, positivity and spiritual endurance could provide basic needs, Allie Ray would be set for life. Unfortunately, her body has failed her in so many ways. After years of struggling with a deformed aortic condition, we have to ask for financial help.
MALS is a disease caused by a deformed ligament choking off the descending aorta. This leads to a life of chronic starvation, malnutrition, mental health break downs, energy depletion and extreme pain. Secondary to MALS (Median Articulate Ligament Syndrome) , is a traumatic disorder that causes constant fear and anxiety.
Until she was 17, no medical professional we consulted was able to diagnose her. Instead, she was accused of eating disorders and mental illnesses. She has tried to fight off the stigma of disability and relied solely off parental assistance and self endurance until now.
Her 19th birthday was a miracle, after being told 6 months prior that she had less weeks to live. The 20th birthday came along and she was on top of the world. Gradually, she has managed to find strength in herself and survive on hope alone.
3 weeks ago, she started the path of fighting for disability. This is a long process. This week she is recovering from a heartbreaking separation from her relationship that had provided her a safe place to live. Relocating to live with family would end her medical coverage and what very little assistance she can apply for here.
We are only asking for enough financial gift to cover $600/ month rent until disability would begin. She will need 4-6 months of help. An additional gift to cover public bus passes at $20/month would also be a great help. A local non-profit will cover one month of a paid roof over her head. Food and meds are covered through state assistance.
Allie is a positive force to anyone who meets her. Filled with comedy, faith in a higher power and a strong example of being the best person you can be; it would be an unsurmountable blessing to receive peace of mind right now.
She is paying forward love of humanity by crocheting gifts for the local abused partners shelter and volunteering what energy she has to shelter animals.
It truly pains us that as a family we can not provide her with all the basic needs right now.
Thank you for reading this little piece of her struggling story. Every little bit helps and we do plan to regularly update her housing and physical condition.
