Alli and Baby Harlan’s Hospital Stay

Hi, I’m Courtney and have been best friends with Alli for the past 30 years (yes, 30!) I wanted to create this fundraiser for Alli and David because so many people are asking how they can help them during this time.

On Wednesday, February 7th, at 24 weeks, Alli started leaking amniotic fluid. After driving herself to the hospital to be evaluated, Alli was transferred by ambulance to South Bend Memorial hospital for her and baby Harlan to be more closely monitored. On Thursday she received the news from the Maternal Fetal Medicine team that she would be spending the duration of her pregnancy on hospital bedrest. Their goal for her is to stay 9 weeks and deliver the baby around 34 weeks. However, it could be sooner. Either way, sweet baby Harlan will be spending the first parts of her life in the NICU.

Alli and David have had an incredible support system so far, but many people have been reaching out asking how they can help them during this uncertain time. They want to make sure everyone knows they expect nothing and to only donate if you feel led to help. But for those looking to help the House family, they told me the biggest blessing to them would be a cash donation to lessen the financial burden of Alli’s extended hospital stay as well as Harlan’s NICU stay. They have already spent thousands of dollars on multiple rounds of IVF trying to conceive their miracle baby. And now Alli is unexpectedly unable to work for several months. Any dollar amount to pay future medical bills would help them tremendously!
