Help us build a new type of school for underserved girls...
Two and a half years ago my wife and I left our jobs to start a school for underserved young women. We started a non-profit, an All-Girls Tuition-Free Boarding High School, and today our students need you.
This campaign is part of the cost of our program. Any level of support is greatly appreciated. We are in need of far more than $18K and THANK YOU for making this one of your causes that you support.
The girls at our school need your help to provide bedding, supplies and support for a safe and stable place to live.
It's crucial that we help build a place for girls, who are at high risk of falling through the cracks, to thrive. At Sisu Academy we believe all girls deserve the right to have a strong community and safe learning environment. These young women can choose to be engineers, welders, community advocates, programmers or leaders of our cities. To get there they will need all our support.
Let's meet a few of our girls:
This is one of our amazing girls above. She loves math and art, but needs to find a school where she can be her awesome self. Sisu Academy supports her in exploring her own path while giving her community and a place to spread her wings.
One student of ours came to us struggling. She is couch surfing with her uncle and his girlfriend. Mom is homeless and dad is a drug addict. When her grandmother passed away she lost her rock. Sisu Academy gives her the stability and hope she needs to find her way. Her grandfather calls this program, "pennies from heaven."
Another student describes her self as "a little extra" and she brings a big personality to everyday life. She's funny and quick with an interesting comment. Her dream is to be an entrepreneur and at Sisu she is encouraged to learn about entrepreneurship so she can become a business owner someday.
Another of our student's mother is in prison and dad is struggling to raise three girls. She's a strong young woman who has endured a lot.
Our school serves a wide range of students from those who are struggling with life to more extreme situations including homeless and human trafficked young women.
These are just some of the stories of our amazing girls. We are launching THIS fall and these young women need your help.
