Hello Good People. Thank you for considering this GoFundMe. I wanted to avoid this request, but some of you were so encouraging about asking for financial support. Thank you, again. Alley is my 8 year old rescue Terrier. Her rescue pal Wiggy insists I ask for your help. She has many bladder stones (of unknown composition). Although her health is stabilized she can’t live with a bladder full of stones. In spite of a very healthy and disciplined diet this condition has developed and after exploring alternative options to a surgical procedure this may be the best choice for her health. We even tried a special diet for 6 weeks to dissolve the stones, it did not help.
The vet in Atascadero, CA has given a detailed assessment of immediate and follow up costs for bladder surgery & testing the stones afterward to determine a proper future diet for the best chance of no recurrence. The stones have created infection that has not healed so the surgery needs to happen soon. I have scheduled the surgery for January 22nd 2019 one week from this GoFundMe request.
Everyone who has beloved pets knows that vet bills are extremely high and can be a huge stress on anyone’s finances. I have spent $1000 already just to get to this point and the surgery with proper follows ups is estimated at $2,300 additional expense. For full disclosure the vet bill estimate is attached to the GoFundMe text body. Unfortunately pet insurances always have preexisting condition clauses and with two well exercised, healthy, happy and loved Terriers, for 8 years, who knew this would happen.
These two are my only children and mean the world to me as any parent knows. I am grateful for your consideration and support in this. Here’s to Alley!
