Hello, my name is Tina I live in Sarasota and work on St. Armand’s, I was affected by Hurricane Helene and have been out of a job since then. On the day Helene hit Sarasota I was scheduled to have dental surgery. I have no health insurance and in order to fully take care of my oral health it would cost me $15,500.00 I can’t afford that. They gave me option B which would be less $6,500.00 to be exact. I have saved up $6500.00 in order to make this happen. Due to the hurricane I had to cancel the surgery. My employer was badly affected as we got 4 feet of water and we haven’t been able to open back up. I was affected in my home as well and was 10 days with no electricity. I used up my savings for my surgery on food, utilities and paid my rent up unto January hopefully we will be able to reopen sometime soon in December. My disaster unemployment finally kicked in November but that’s not much. My condition has worsen and I am living in CONSTANT PAIN. It’s going to take me at least a little over 6 months to save up again especially since 1 of my jobs permanently closed due to hurricane damage. I worked 7 days a week for the past three years now ill be down to 5 days a week full time. Any little amount would help me get closer to alleviating this constant pain, even just a share is so appreciated.
