The Allen Family Harvey Fund

As a result of Hurricane Harvey our family has been displaced and our home deemed uninhabitable.  Our apartment was located along the Addicks Reservoir on Barker Cypress Rd at The Abbey apartments in Houston, Texas. We were under mandatory evacuation and have recently been allowed access. We lived on the first floor which started taking on water Saturday. Our apartment took on 4-5 feet of water and is destroyed. All of our furniture is completely destroyed as well as the majority of the rest of our belongings. We are currently staying with family for now but need to find more permanent housing. Insurance has denied our claim because we did not have a flood policy. We know we will have to replace belongings (ranging from furniture and appliances to towels and toiletries) as well as find a new place to live so we will be using this money for those things. We lost our washer and dryer, the refridgerator, our kitchen table, our couch, our beds, our entertainment center, anything and everything wooden just to name a few. We were fortunate enough to save some clothes that were high up in the closets. We also lost food and basic hosehold items that we need to replace so we will need to purchase those as well. Also Emma lost all of her favorite stuffed animals, books, and shoes so we want to replace some of those things along with her princess bed. We will use this money directly to replace lost items and to get our family back into a new home were we can begin to recover from this ordeal. This is just the begining of a long road to recovery. Anything helps and we are most grateful for any support.
