Allender Center Cohort Tuition
Donation protected
I’m Melody Carr, and I’m a licensed counselor recently transitioning from school counseling employment to the world of private practice where I feel uniquely called to share hope and healing as a faith-based therapist. (See my work in progress at www.flourishfamilycounseling.com). I’ve been accepted to study in a post-graduate training cohort for counselors during the 2023-24 school year at the Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. I’m hoping to raise tuition funds that total $6,495.00, which will cover my participation in four quarterly workshops facilitated by Dr. Dan Allender/his teaching team and a year’s worth of valuable investment in my personhood and profession. The purpose of my cohort study is two-fold: 1) to absorb the material personally by applying it to my own life and story, and 2) to become proficient at utilizing the modality of Narrative-Focused Trauma Care with the clients God brings my way through my continued professional counseling practice in Matthews, NC. As a lifelong learner, I’m stoked about combining my love for the good news of Jesus with clinical understanding of various wounds that deeply impact our mental health, and I feel blessed to do this remotely during a full season of life while working and raising four school-aged kiddos. I could not have predicted that my chosen field would be in such high demand during recent years, however I find deep joy in navigating tough places with my clients and I greatly appreciate any investment you might make in continuing that work in and through me.
