Honor the memory of Allen Comer, and help his family
Allen Comer—loving father, caring husband, loyal friend, a man of many talents, musician, fine craftsman, carpenter, mechanic, knowledgeable and conversant on a wide range of topics—died on October 12, 2016 at the age of 56. He concealed his illness from loved ones until he could no longer work. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Our immediate priority is helping with Allen's funeral expenses. It is very important to Robin, Allen's wife, and Nasyatana ("Noni"), his 16-year old daughter, to hold a memorial service and to spread Allen's ashes according to his wishes. We want to make sure that happens.
But beyond this very immediate need, we want to help Noni and Robin get their feet back on the ground. This is a very tough time for them. For the past year, as Allen's health deteriorated & he couldn't any longer work. Without Allen's financial support, family been forced to change their living arrangements.
It was very difficult, painful and emotional time for them all, and for Robin and Noni still continuous.
Yet, despite these great difficulties, Noni maintains a high GPA, immerses herself in positive activities like martial arts, swimming, and music, and is determined to go to medical school—she's a great kid! Robin and Noni have applied for government-subsidized housing all over the Bay Area, but as we know, the wait list is long. In the meantime, they're really struggling and need all the help they can get.
Let's help them get through a very rough patch in their lives, and give them the love, encouragement, and support they'll need to face the challenges ahead.
