All the Love for Baby Kohlrus

Donation protected
We need lots of love and prayers and food and support going to Julie and Trevor today and the coming weeks and months. For those of you that know, and for those that don’t… So we can rally behind them.

Baby Kohlrus was born on Friday April 18, 2025 and we are so excited he’s here

Here was the first update we got from Julie on Friday night after his labor and delivery.

4/18/2025

“Keep those crystals on hand y’all, we’re not out of the woods yet.. it’s been a looong couple of days. Bb boy got transferred today to Radys after such a long hard birth.

After laboring since 3:30am yesterday, transferring to the hospital at 11pm for epidural and pitocin to give my cervix time to fully dilate and 4 hours of pushing today, our little handsome man arrived vaginally with a low heart rate and not breathing. Took him a while to stable out, and they’re still concerned with his progress. He’ll be undergoing a therapeutic hypothermic treatment for 3 days and a slow warming on day 4, mainly as a precaution to help prevent long term brain damage from likely lack of blood flow – he’ll be there 7-10 days.

To say we’re exhausted, in shock, and devastated we left the hospital without our little guy is an understatement. We’re making a pit stop home to change and eat then we’ll be heading there tonight to be with him ✨

It’s so much to process. Please send all the love. Love yous”

Update 2 Saturday Night

4/19/2025

“Our lil dude is such a champ.. officially 1 of 3 days of therapeutic hypothermia down 2 more to go to give his body and brain a chance to heal and recover.

Officially still no seizures
Daddy got to change his first diaper
He got his first feeding of my colostrum, albeit by feeding tube

We’re taking the little wins where we can get them. ✨”

Update 3 on Monday Night

4/21/2025

“Quick update: we officially are warming and will be back to typical body temp in just a couple hours✨☀️ Within the first couple he’s already opened his (very swollen) eyes and looked right at us. Immediately he guzzled a binky ready for the real thing over a feeding tube and started cooing like a baby

HOLY MOLY it’s been a journey.

Living in a chaotic hotel piled with bags and bags of stuff from home, pumping, swelling, undercarriage wrecking, taking shifts at the hospital, not being able to hold or really touch or console him. Just being a NICU family. It’s all been a LOT.

But also so beautiful to be surrounded my amazing friends and family and med staff who are simply incredible. (They even have. Lady who plays a harp wander the halls)

Thank you guys for all the love and msgs - it’s been impossible to keep up but we hear and feel them all.

Blondes food and support is keeping us fed and sane and all your love is keeping up our hope and spirits. We need and love you all. Please keep it coming and feel free to update fam and others.

It truly takes a village. We love you guys so so much.”

And lastly this morning a great update we love to see

4/22/2025

“You guys.

Our baby is warm and pink and DEVOURING bottles like a champ. Nursing and mouth feeding is the hardest blocker to discharging these HIE NICU babies and he can’t get enoughhhh.

Still taking it one step at a time until the MRI but this is a MAJORRRR leap in the right direction. ”
