My dear friends - I have some incredible news to share!
I’ve been accepted into a one-year Master’s program at Accademia Costume & Moda in Rome - to study Fabric Innovation Design!
It’s one of the top fashion schools in the world and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to truly spread my wings! ✨
I’m still in shock - but mostly filled with overwhelming excitement!
But that’s not all!
Last week, I found out I’ve been awarded the Changemaker Scholarship - a collaboration between ACM and The Social Hub!
This covers half of my tuition and offers free accommodation in student housing!
I cried tears of joy - and I still do every time I think about it.
But here comes the challenge:
The school is incredible - and incredibly expensive.
There’s little time left, and I still need to raise €10,000:
• €2,500 for the enrolment fee
• €7,500 for the remaining tuition
I’m not giving up!
Since receiving the acceptance letter, I’ve been doing everything I can:
• Saving from every paycheck
• Searching for a second job
• I’ve already managed to save €1,500!
Still, I won’t be able to meet the full cost alone - and this is where you come in.
If you’d like to be part of this journey, I’d be endlessly grateful for your support!
Why does this matter so much?
Fashion needs change — and I want to be part of that change.
I design clothes and textiles using second-hand materials. I experiment with sustainable fabrics that are durable and kind to the planet.
My mission is to combine traditional craftsmanship with innovation — to create garments with soul and a clear conscience.
This Master’s program is a unique chance to deepen my knowledge and gain the tools to make a real difference in the future of the fashion industry.
It’s not the first time I’ve fought for my dreams.
During my BA studies in England, I lost my funding halfway through my final year.
But I didn’t give up. I picked up a second job helping younger students during the week after classes, and worked weekends in a suit shop.
I created my graduation collection from second-hand garments using upcycling techniques.
That experience taught me that a lack of money doesn’t mean a lack of creativity - in fact, limits can spark the best ideas.
Now I’m standing in front of a new challenge, and I truly believe that with your help, I can overcome it.
Goal: £10,000/ €10,000 – The final stretch to Rome!
Your support will help cover:
• Enrolment fee: €2,500
• Remaining tuition: €7,500
• Any extra funds will go toward moving costs, essential materials, and travel.
How you can help:
1. Donate any amount - every single contribution brings me closer to this dream!
2. Share this fundraiser - a simple click could lead this story to someone who’s able to help. That’s priceless support!
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for every gesture.
For your time, your belief, and your support!
Together, we can make the world (and fashion) better!!
With love and gratitude,
Luiza Osam-Gyaabin x
