ALL OUT for Kal

Kal Beckles is a coach at Orangetheory Fitness. He has a very driven and hardworking mindset and can always be counted on to be there. He is respectful, genuine, nice and one of the most caring people to ever know. He lives his day-to-day life lifting others and constantly giving with 0 selfish bones in his body. In July of 2021, he was in a car crash that totaled his car. He had suffered a concussion from it but recovered a couple weeks later. In November of 2021, he was hit by another driver and later was told he had some brain swelling and would need surgery to fix it. Ever since then he has been going in to the doctor regularly for check ups and to have a scan done every week. At one of the scans, it was discovered that he had a tumor on his spinal cord and cerebellum. Kal and the doctors had to decide between the surgery or radiotherapy. Since the tumor was small and in a very risky spot, the best choice was to go with the radiotherapy. This was going to be a 10-12 week treatment with 3 sessions a week. Unfortunately, in his latest scan they notice a change in the tumor. It had been spreading which typically means cancer. After further review, they sadly classified his tumor as Grade II Anaplastic Meningioma. As of right now the growing rate is not too rapid, and they can continue with the radiotherapy treatment that he had in line, but it may need to be an extended period of time with additional sessions each week. This will be known as the treatment goes on and how the radiotherapy is attacking the tumor. If the radiotherapy is not successful then they will write a treatment plan to start him on chemo therapy. After the first couple of sessions, this will eventually start to take a toll on him and he will be out of work. Unfortunately, while he is out of work he still has his bills, Ubers, and doctors visits to pay off. We ask for any support you may be able to give or to pass the word on to family and friends. We appreciate all the support and everyone who is here for him. We do ask everyone try to respect him during this time. If you do attend a studio that he works at there will be a comment box where you can submit some nice words and thoughts to him during this time. We will keep this up to date as treatment plans go on.
