December 31, 2025 update ~ Sherry is home. We are grateful for this, and we look forward to continued outpatient care with Sheltering Arms. Sherry and her family are so grateful for your love, prayers and support. Please see message below for more information.

Hello friends and family- Many of you know our dear friend, Sherry Rock, experienced a spinal stroke on October 27th. She is currently receiving exceptional care at Sheltering Arms here in the Richmond, Virginia area, and expects to be discharged for home care and outpatient care very soon. I first met Sherry when she and her family moved to the area in 2009 at Journey. Her youngest, Mark, and Jackson were in kindergarten. Sherry volunteered in church with their age group from kindergarten until HS graduation 2022. She and I also taught at Tomahawk Creek together. Sherry is a blessing to everyone she knows. It seems that she is always thinking about, helping, and praying for others. God has reminded me through this that her ministry is far from over here.

Sherry’s needs are physical as the spinal stroke reached C2. Her left side does not have movement, and right side is very limited movement. Prior to this, she was an instructional assistant with Chesterfield County Public Schools for more than 10 years.

This fundraiser will directly support Sherry’s children, allowing them to spend more time with her, travel to her, travel with her, and experience some of their hopes and dreams for the family.
