All Kids Can Play - Accessible Playground Fund

Want to join me in making a difference? Highlands Odyssey Elementary PTO is raising money, so ALL KIDS CAN PLAY!

Our current playground offers few accessible and safe options for students with physical and developmental disabilities. We want to change that!

Our dream includes three different things.

1) increase the accessibility of our current playground by adding rubber on ramps and additionally accessible swings.

2) add equipment to our current playground where ALL kids can play side by side, including musical and sensory boards located near sidewalks and blacktop.

3) build a fully accessible, separate, fenced-in playground for our littlest students with physical or developmental disabilities. The fence ensures they can be safely supervised, and all equipment will be small enough and accessible so our little buddies can safely and joyfully play outside!

We've already been hard at work fundraising. A team of parents, staff, and even 6th-grade students planned, promoted, and led our annual fun run with all proceeds benefiting the All Kids Can Play Campaign! Many hours and tons of heart were put into this event, and we successfully achieved lots of FUN, and we earned $18,000 toward this project!
