Hi I am Jason's Mother.
Jason and his son were working to get yardwork done in preparation for the family home's upcoming inspection for the landlord; and Jason wasn't feeling well.
He went inside while experiencing chest pain. He quickly became very unwell.
An ambulance was called for. He was assessed and taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital a short drive from their home; and admitted at 4:30pm.
Hospital monitoring showed he had had a heart attack. Medications were administered to stabilize him.
During the night he was awakened for medical reasons and had a type of seizure. A cat scan revealed it was caused by a brain bleed.
That bleed caused a very dire medical circumstance. A cat scan was taken.
In the morning the medical team carried out a angiogram with dye to determine where the blockage was, so a stent could be inserted.
It was determined that he had what was termed a "widowmaker" blockage on a vein coming off the aorta. And another blockage further down at 80% closed with diseased or damaged (from previous undiagnosed but felt by him,) heart attacks, of a vein coming off the previous mentioned vein. So a triple threat in his heart.
The cardiac team consulted and he was told that the brain bleed was going to cause problems for the following reasons.
The medications he was being administered were thinners for the blood and that could cause much bleeding in the brain.
And because of his blockages in the heart the brain couldn't be operated on as the heart wouldn't take it.
The medical team consulted with other hospitals in the area trying to find the best surgical team both neurological and cardiac which could attend him.
As of this writing this matter hasn't been resolved.
BUT Jason being the sole breadwinner, his wife being unable to walk due to both knees needing surgery, has been told he will not be going back to his work for some time possibly 3-4 months depending on the outcome of any type of surgery he is able to tolerate and live.
His circumstance medically is very serious. Cardiologist is reluctant to place stents due to where they are located and the fact one is a widow-maker.
Before the brain bleed they would have wanted to do a bypass but now he cannot be put under for that length of time; this after Cardiologists and Neurosurgeons consulted at various hospitals in Brisbane.
After receiving all this information Jason tried to sit up in bed and was gifted with another heart attack, showing us all how dire his existence is.
His wife and teen son at home will struggle tremendously without financial help.
Our small family will do all we can and it was suggested to ask for help on this platform to make up the differences that will come up as myself and Jason's father are 77 and 81 so pensioners.
Anyone who feels led to help us we say "Thank you, and bless you! May your gift to him be 7 fold returned to you."
We all will be eternally grateful.
Jason is a very good person and a worthy recipient of your generosity.
Thank you for your consideration of his plight.
AN UPDATE
It's been 6 days in hospital now for what we thought might be a simple stent for this heart attack.
Today on hospital time he should have an MRI of the brain after a CT scan with dye, last evening, showed a small "mass."
It was a shock to us all. Devastating news.
Jason expected to be back at work by now. A full week's income has been lost and we are so thankful to everyone for their donations which will cover about two weeks rent and food for the home front.
Prayers are most needed as well for a full recovery from all the issues, both brain and heart. Thank you, his Mom, Diane.
