Donation protected
My name is Melissa Crockett. His sons and I are so saddened and overwhelmed by his sudden passing.His death was not expected in the sense that he had no chronic illness ,he suffered a massive heart attactt yesterday. We are trying to raise enough money to sadly pay for the cost of the creatmation and celebration of life memorial for my ex husband and their father. I am proud to say Steve had come such a long way from the man I had fell in love with. He went from working in the steel mill to , being in charge of safety!
He accomplished this great position at age 55. He did this mainly so he was able to help me and his sonsbecause of the struggles we all endured when we were raising the boys.He got his wish full filled when he took the classes and put the hard work in to get the certifications necessary to be in safety. He was so happy he was finally able to help us monetarily. Steve was so generous in his giving because he knew how hard it was to struggle financially. Steve always , always there for me even though we had parted ways. He would call me every day when on the road, I will miss him so. He was a great friend always willing when able to help them and listen. He and his boys got so close later in life and he did all he could for them.I think Steve was ready to go being the last person left in his immediate family. He lost his mother Judy first, then sadly lost his only sibling and best friend Jeff to a suicide that he actually was forced to witness. Bill his father was last one to go and Steve was only one still living. We talked many times about his loneliness due to that. I lost my mother a long time ago and recently my dad who was my best friend so Steve was there for me and I finally understood the loneliness he would refer to.
Steve's sons and I are so proud of all the good things he was doing and will miss him . He did finally get that good job but unfortunately Steve had no life insurance. I am hoping that someone can please help us out we would be so appreciative because we are all pretty much barely making it . If you are able to donate even a dollar, I would be so grateful. I am usually a very proud person who hates to ask anyone for anything but I can not pay this and I will do whatever I have to , to make sure my Steve gets a service! We have been together, knowing each other for over 40 years. We may have fought like crazy people but we loved each other and had each others back when it mattered. We are all trying to learn how to live without my dad, their papal, now Steve. It just doesn't seem real.
