All In For Ollie - Fighting Stage 4 Ocular Melanoma

Donation protected
Ollie is a kind, fun loving and hardworking 33-year-old. New husband to Ruth, proud older brother, friend, colleague; and living with a rare Stage 4 cancer.

In 2019, Ollie was diagnosed with Ocular (Uveal) Melanoma in his left eye. After plaque radiotherapy at Moorfields Hospital, and successfully treating the tumour, life began to return to normal.

In October 2025 - just weeks after marrying Ruth, one of the happiest days of his life— devastating news changed everything. The cancer had spread to his liver, and what should have been a time filled with newlywed happiness and plans for the future, suddenly became a whirlwind of scans, hospital appointments, and life-changing conversations.

Why we’re asking for help?

There are over 200 rare cancers, and although termed ‘rare’ these cancers collectively make up 47% of all cancer diagnosis. Tragically, rare cancers are often overlooked in terms of research, funding and available treatments.

Ollie’s cancer - Metastasised Ocular Melanoma - is an extremely rare and aggressive disease. Around 50% of cases spread from the eye to the liver, and once this stage is reached, unfortunately there are no effective treatments available through the NHS.

Patients are given a prognosis of up to 12-15 months if the disease is left untreated.

Ollie is now at this point. With the NHS unable to offer more options, the only advised route remaining is a privately funded treatment: Chemosaturation - a specialised form of chemotherapy delivered directly to the liver. It is 90% effective for patients at controlling the disease and whilst not curative, can give Ollie something incredibly important: Time.

Time for Ollie to be with his wife, family and friends. Time to return to work and maintain hope that he can access new treatments that are in development phase.

The determination to fight this has never been stronger. Pride has been swallowed and Ollie and Ruth have set up this campaign in hope to cover all associated costs for up to 6 rounds of treatments and future care. Each round of Chemosaturation costs £40,000.

The odds of a 33 year old facing metastatic ocular melanoma in the UK, are c. 1 in a million. Those who know Ollie, think that sums him up pretty well! (Ruth wrote that bit!)

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any donation, your kindness, and for sharing Ollie’s story.
