All In For Karen: Fighting Cancer

We are writing to you today with a mix of sadness and determination, seeking your support for Karen Harmon, a woman whose life has touched so many. Just before Thanksgiving, Karen’s life took an unexpected and frightening turn. She went to the hospital due to stomach pains and underwent emergency surgery for a blockage of the colon that was later found to be a cancerous tumor of her pancreas – a cruel blow that forced her to spend her 64th birthday and Thanksgiving in a hospital bed.

Karen is now facing the arduous journey of chemotherapy; her spirit is strong as she hopes for a chance to defeat this cancer with further surgery. However, the immense medical costs associated with her treatment have created a financial hardship that no family should have to endure.

Think of Karen: a devoted wife, a loving mother to three, and doting grandmother of 4. For most of her life, she poured her heart and energy into working tirelessly at the family bakery and eventually taking over the reins from her father. Her dream was to retire at 65, but this illness has stolen that possibility, forcing her to retire early to focus on her health.

Karen is the epitome of a giving soul – a down-to-earth woman who has always extended a helping hand to those in need. Now, it is our turn to rally around her. To see her now facing such a difficult battle compels us to reach out to you, her community, for support.

Contributions will contribute to her hospital stay, ostomy surgery and ostomy supplies, chemo treatments, medication, doctor appointments, and all other medical-related expenses.

It will be an evening of games, laughter, and the chance to win fantastic prizes, all while contributing to a worthy cause.
