On Tuesday evening, February 5, 2019, Jorge Briseno, the love of Lydia's life, and the leader of their Wolf Pack that includes their amazing kids , Metzli (Age 9), and Cuau (Age 13) was struck by a car seriously injured near their home in Boyle Heights.  

Jorge suffered a traumatic brain injury and his condition remains very serious .

But Jorge is strong and fighting hard. Just 5 days after the accident, he continues to surprise doctors with his progress: he's breathing on his own and as of Sunday 2/10, he's able to eat and drink. He gives us hand signals and wiggles his toes when we talk to him but he is not yet fully conscious or able to speak.

The road to a full recovery will very long and we need to come together to support Lydia and Jorge and the kids at this difficult time.

Jorge is thankfully insured, but the family will now lose his income for the foreseeable future and Lydia is now the sole breadwinner for the family.  They will also likely have to cover equipment, medicines, transportation and other costs to help bring Jorge home to his family.
